Shiatsu is a form of acupuncture with the main aim of preventing ailments.

If you have a tension headache then try this.

Place your thumbs on the top of your ears at the front. Arc your hands over your head and allow them to meet at the centre. Apply firm, comfortable, moving, pressure to the point beneath your index fingers.

The above also helps release tension in the shoulders. Shoulder tension can be related to tension headaches.

Massage the Yingtang spot between the eye brows. Just feel for the hollow in your skull. Apply gentle but firm pressure.

Apply gentle but firm moving pressure to the top central part of the web between your right thumb and index finger.

Keep the pressure on each spot for about 2 minutes.

Repeat the treatment twice during the day.

Remember you need to think about triggers for this headache. These can be food, alcohol, stress, environment and their combinations.
